“My Girl” Anna Chlumsky is 27!
She charmed her way into our hearts when she played the lead role in the film “My Girl,” opposite a young Macaulay Culkin. No longer a little girl, actress Anna Chlumsky turned 27 years old on December 3rd!
She dropped out of the acting scene from 1998 – 2005, pursuing other life choices, including a degree in International Studies from the University of Chicago with a degree in International Studies (2002). She went on to work as a restaurant guide in Manhattan, and was an aspiring food critic. She even worked at HarperCollins Publishers as an editorial assistant! (That sounds nice to me, but then again, I’m a writer/editor.)
In October People Magazine reported that Chlumsky is engaged:
The 26-year-old actress, best known as Macaulay Culkin’s gal pal Vada in the 1991 film My Girl, is engaged to Shaun So, 26, an Army reserve member who served in Afghanistan, she tells PEOPLE.
The couple, who live in Brooklyn, N.Y., are currently planning a wedding to take place next March.
“Shaun’s family is Chinese, and my family is Catholic. So we’re going to do a fusion of the two cultural traditions,” Chlumsky said Thursday night at the Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards.
She was most recently seen as a guest star on “Law & Order” and “30 Rock,” and will be in several upcoming feature films, including “Blood Car,” “Eavesdrop,” and “My Sweet Misery.” Happy belated birthday, Anna!
